Attachment and Relational Trauma: 3 LIVE Webinar Sessions with Kate Lucre
For many clients with complex attachment and relational trauma, change can be a triggering and deeply unsettling experience. The kinds of changes to therapy practice which are now inevitable as a result of recent events is likely for some to stimulate deep seated unresolved trauma responses. For many this could signify a repeat of the early experience of uncertainty, trauma and a lack of containment. Chandelier Events is pleased to offer a number of online sessions for staff to support in making the adjustment to online working. These will have a Compassion Focused Approach but are appropriate for staff working in any modality.

This webinar will also include ideas for working creatively with the use of objects to enable a continuation of some more complex trauma work. The session will conclude with an overview of ways to manage closing the therapeutic work which is sensitive to the needs for transitioning points between therapy and home life. It is clear that in these unprecedented times, we will be, perhaps for the first time, facing the same difficulties as out clients. We may be feeling fearful uncertain, adrift from ways of working and managing which are familiar and containing. This 90 minute live personal practice session will focus on introducing some of the ideas from Compassion Focused Therapy and Compassion Focused Staff Support as a way of supporting staff to manage their own compassionate wellbeing. Breathing, guided imagery and body focused techniques will be introduced alongside practical ways for clinicians to attend to their self-care and manage the impact of the work and more broadly the current situation. This session will be available as a live online session only and so will be limited to 25 participants as feedback from participants will form an integral aspect of this session. These sessions can be repeated if required.
This session will be a 90 minute live online supervision session. The focus of this supervision session will be to offer support and therapy related guidance to staff who are delivering either group or individual CFT interventions to clients with complex attachment and relational trauma. It is expected that clinicians accessing these sessions will have training and experience of using CFT in their clinical practice as the sessions will not be covering the basic model in any detail and will assume that clinicians will understand and be familiar with the basic model and therapeutic approach. It is important these supervisions will be a one off and therefore will not replace the need for regular clinical supervision of therapeutic practice. This session will be available as a live online session only and so will be limited to 15 participants as feedback from participants will form an integral aspect of this session. These sessions can be repeated if required. Once we gauge interest and numbers, live session dates will be arranged.
